Job Description
JD for DBA role:
- Design and optimize database schemas for different workloads (OLTP, OLAP).
- Implement indexing and query optimization strategies.
- Implement database replication, partitioning, and sharding for better scalability.
- Configure PostgreSQL for high availability using appropriate tools.
- Ensure database security by setting up encryption and managing user roles and permissions.
- Implement backup strategies using pg_dump, logical replication, and physical backups.
- Perform recovery operations when necessary.
- Monitor database performance and assist team in troubleshooting issues related to queries, performance, and integrity.
- Support ETL pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
Job Requirement
Required Skills
- 8 plus YOE in PostgreSQL database administration, including performance tuning, replication, partitioning, and backups.
- Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery tools.
- Strong knowledge of database security, encryption, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and custom functions and supporting app team.
- Experience with ETL tools and data transformation workflows.
