Job Title: Practice Head - Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence

We are seeking a market oriented leader to head our Data Analytics practice. The Practice Head - Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the organization’s analytics, data science strategies, driving growth, and leading a high-performing team to deliver innovative solutions that provide actionable insights to clients. This role will also involve defining the practice’s vision, managing teams, driving business development, and ensuring high-quality data analysis, all while staying current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics technology. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to guide our analytics practice toward success in a competitive market. The role directly reports into the Chief Technology Officer.

Key Responsibilities: -
Leadership & Strategy:
- Define and execute the overall Data Analytics vision and strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data to solve critical business problems and create value.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in analytics.
- BFSI Analytics roadmap and use case background will be a plus
Delivery Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of data analytics projects, ensuring high quality and timely execution.
- Monitor project performance against key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement processes, standards, and governance for project management and delivery.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to meet delivery commitments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, business, data science, etc.) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Understand client business needs and challenges to design customized data analytics solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, presenting data insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
Innovation & Market Awareness:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and new methodologies in the analytics space.
- Share and build market awareness in the broader organisation
- Explore and implement innovative analytics tools and platforms to stay ahead of competitors and meet evolving client demands.
- Position Hoonartek as a thought leader in the analytics industry through publications, speaking engagements, and networking.
Business Development & Growth:
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and senior leadership teams to identify new business opportunities and expand the Analytics practice.
- Lead the sales process for data analytics services and develop compelling proposals and presentations to showcase their value.
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies to scale the practice and increase revenue.
- Lead proposal and RFP responses, showcasing the capabilities of the analytics practice.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide guidance on data strategy, architecture, and infrastructure to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Establish data governance standards and best practices across the practice.
- Oversee the design and implementation of dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Expertise in data warehousing, data lakes, data pipelines, and data visualization tools.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and other data professionals.
- Foster a collaborative team culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Recruit and develop talent with the necessary technical and analytical skills.
- Proven experience leading and managing high-performing data analytics teams.
Job Requirement
Required Skills And Qualifications
Educational Background
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience, with a significant portion focused on data analytics in BFSI, CMT or technology
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale analytics projects successfully with in depth experience in Cloud
Technical Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of data analytics methodologies, including data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modelling.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex data insights to stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate business needs into actionable data analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, or Snowflake is a plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in insurance.
