Senior Project Manager – Databricks Implementation

Role Overview
Hoonartek is looking for a Senior Project Manager – Databricks Implementation to lead the delivery of enterprise-scale Databricks Lakehouse projects and data platform modernization initiatives.
The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery, coordinating with solution architects and engineering teams, and ensuring successful implementation of Databricks-based data and analytics platforms for enterprise clients.
The ideal candidate will combine strong project management capabilities with a solid understanding of modern data engineering and analytics platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end Databricks implementation projects for enterprise clients.
- Define project scope, delivery milestones, and implementation roadmaps.
- Manage project schedules, resources, risks, and dependencies.
- Ensure delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
2. Program & Delivery Management
- Manage multiple data platform and analytics initiatives built on Databricks.
- Drive structured delivery using Agile / Scrum methodologies.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular executive updates to stakeholders.
- Establish project governance, reporting, and escalation mechanisms.
3. Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders during project delivery.
- Coordinate with client data, architecture, and analytics teams.
- Facilitate technical and business workshops to align project objectives and delivery outcomes.
4. Technical Coordination
Work closely with architects and engineering teams delivering:
- Databricks Lakehouse implementations
- Data ingestion and transformation pipelines
- Delta Lake data architecture
- Data warehousing and analytics workloads
- Integration with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Databricks AI/BI
Ensure that project delivery aligns with best practices for scalability, performance, and data governance.
5. Partnership & Solution Alignment
- Support Hoonartek’s Databricks partnership initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal solution teams for architecture alignment.
- Contribute to solution discussions and delivery planning for new engagements.
6. Delivery Governance
- Track project KPIs including milestones, utilization, revenue realization, and delivery quality.
- Maintain delivery documentation, project plans, and status reporting.
- Identify delivery risks early and drive mitigation plans.
Required Skills
Technical Understanding
Strong conceptual knowledge of:
- Databricks Lakehouse Platform
- Apache Spark / PySpark
- Modern Data Engineering architectures
- Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
- Data warehousing and analytics ecosystems
Good to have familiarity with:
- Delta Lake
- MLflow
- Unity Catalog
- Databricks AI/BI
- Data governance frameworks
Project Management Skills
- Agile / Scrum delivery methodologies
- Enterprise data platform implementations
- Stakeholder and client management
- Risk and issue management
Experience Requirements
- 12–18 years of experience in IT delivery / data platform programs
- Experience managing data engineering or analytics platform projects
- Exposure to Databricks ecosystem preferred
- Experience working with enterprise clients in BFSI, Telecom, Pharma, or similar industries
Soft Skills
- Strong client communication and presentation skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional technical teams
- Structured thinking and problem-solving approach
- Ability to manage complex multi-stream projects
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Information Technology or related field.
